Description

The Division of Public Relations manages the publishing and distribution of the corporation's premier print and electronic publications, and videos. These include the annual report and specialized e-newsletters such as the NeighborWorks@Work and the NetWorks (For NeighborWorks organization executive directors and board presidents). The division also provides graphic design support to other business units throughout the corporation, provides overall content management, site development and design for NeighborWorks America websites and coordinates the corporation's Web strategy. This involves establishing and implementing corporate-wide policies, strategies and guidelines, and coordinating audience and strategies that guide the corporation's web presence. Public Relations also coordinates the delivery of related Web-based services to the corporation and the NeighborWorks network. 

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the Director of Public Relations (Operations) assists the Senior Vice President in the development and implementation of the division's goals and strategies, content direction, budgeting and staff operations to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the division. The Director also assists the Senior Vice President in ensuring the quality and timeliness of the division's communications products and in coordinating communications with other divisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Assisting the Senior Vice President with the strategic direction, budget and management; overseeing the quality of timeliness of work products; developing business processes; facilitating optimum coordination between divisions; assist with online project management; supervise project managers; evaluate requests and proposals for new communications products; communicating deliverables on national partnerships; monitoring, analyzing, and issuing reports for senior management on digital and social media products; evaluating the user experience using site data and analytics; and staying current on affordable housing trends and community development.

 
Position Requirements

(a) Education: A bachelor's degree with a focus on liberal arts, communications, English, journalism, writing, or a related field is required.
(b) Experience: At least seven (7) years' professional experience in online media, business unit strategy planning and budget management. Must have experience in creating and implementing policies, procedures, and standards for print and digital media. Must have at least two (2) years' basic supervisory experience.
(c) Licenses, Certifications: None required.
(d) Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: A strong knowledge and understanding of the use of communications (internal and external) in a larger setting, including strategic use of websites and measurement tools. Must be familiar with metrics and analytics. Highly effective writing and editing skills in various forms (e.g. corporate documents, online corporate presence, white papers, blogs etc.). A grasp of basic design principles. Extensive and exceptional ability to plan, organize, and carry out complex projects.
(e) Technology: PowerPoint presentations, Excel and SharePoint.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience or knowledge of affordable housing/community revitalization issues is preferred but not required. Familiarity with basic HTML.
