Accounting Intern 

Description

The Accounting Intern will assist the accounting staff in meeting routine and ad-hoc deadlines. The intern will also assist in compiling and maintaining accounts payable and receivable records. Other duties may be assigned as the need arises.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable

  • Accounts Receivable

  • General Ledger

  • Periodic Reporting

  • Research

  • Filing

 
Position Requirements

Education:

  • Background in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Candidates must be a college junior or senior, with a minimum B grade average.

  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in accounting, finance, or related field.

  • Safety and security: the individual observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to show initiative, multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines

Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of computer software packages (accounting/finance), MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word

  • Understand finance and accounting principles and practices, financial markets, and banking

Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years of age or older and enrolled in a college or university (juniors/seniors). GPA: above 3.0.
  • While flexible in the number of hours worked each week (16 - 20 per week), this is a paid position that will run from Sept 11th through Dec 15th, 2017.
  • Vectorworks does not provide for relocation, housing, or transportation reimbursement costs.
