This person will evaluate and monitor health and safety hazards, and control strategies on behalf of our utilities client during maintenance operations. This position requires the successful candidate to inspect construction, industrial, and commercial workplaces (as well as others) to ensure compliance with company/client policies and procedures, as well as Ontario OH&S legislation, and industry best practice standards Provide OHS orientations to employees and contractors Reviewing and advising on OHS forms (hazard assessments, incident investigations) Assist in incident investigations Providing summary reports for clients as needed for specific projects Following up on and tracking corrective actions stemming from incident investigations, audits, inspections and hazard reports. Advising and communication changes in client requirements Providing advice relating to compliance with Provincial/Federal OHS legislations Acting as a resources by providing guidance and mentoring employees and contractors Compile statistical data and reports as required by the Health and Safety Manager. Coordinate and participate in safety meetings. Perform field inspections Audit worksites for non compliance issues and recommend corrective actions. Conduct onsite hazard assessments to identify and evaluate various health and safety concerns on the worksite.
