Ascentis is currently seeking a Sales Development Representative (SDR). This is an entry-level or early career sales position for a recent grad or professional who has studied business, marketing, sales, or a related area, and has an active interest in selling software technologies. Compensation is based on an hourly wage plus commissions for sales as a result of SDR nurturing effort. Strong possibility for accelerated career advancement to commissioned territory sales assignments for candidates successful in this role.  

Responsibilities:

  • Calling down on warm and cold leads (30-50 outbound calls per day is expected)
  • Managing incoming sales calls and routing appropriately
  • Following-up quickly with leads who have expressed solution interest
  • Initiating conversations with key HR and payroll technology decision makers, identify and understand business needs
  • Qualifying leads using defined and provided discovery strategies and processes
  • Set up appointments and demos for sales staff
  • Grooming lead data within the CRM (Salesforce.com), ensuring critical required fields are populated and accurate
  • Working closely with assigned Sales rep in a partnering role that facilitates accelerated pipeline growth
  • Conscientious database hygiene and maintenance
  • Lead list clean-up and import
  • Could include some travel opportunities to support trade show efforts
 
Position Requirements
  • Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of prior selling experience is preferred, but not absolutely necessary
  • Outbound calling experience with success in actual connects and the ability to qualify and schedule next steps is preferred
  • Strong interest in technology sales as a career
  • Attention to detail and following established processes is absolutely required
  • Entrepreneurial and persistent in spirit – successful sales requires tenacity and positive, eager attitude
  • Professional and friendly phone personality, must enjoy talking to people and building positive business relationships
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is preferred
  • Familiar with any CRM or Salesforce.com (or the ability to learn CRM and telephony technology quickly)
  • Ability to use the Internet to research companies and decision makers (search engines, LinkedIn, Zoominfo, etc.)
  • Must be organized and efficient while working on multiple tasks
  • Great listener and quick thinker with an inquisitive nature
