Description

Ascentis seeks a Senior Program Manager (PMO). The candidate will have a track record of delivering functional software via agile development methods, be able to adjust resource estimation at project inception; tracking progress and planning, re-planning and adjusting course based on both realities of team velocity and potential changes in user needs over the course of the project. The candidate will use resource estimates using point-based systems from their Scrum Masters' progress, and track progress via charting team velocity and burn-down charts.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of complex projects
  • Coordinating and leading sprint planning meetings for multiple teams.
  • Work with product management to plan release scope, prioritization, and timing.
  • Work with the team managers to ensure on-time deliverables.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and influence decision making with multi-layer leadership on the approach to be adopted.
  • Should come from Technology background; understands technology/SDLC.
  • Forecast completion of releases based on team velocity.
  • Remove blockers from the teams to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Ability to effectively manage risk and appropriately escalate issues.
  • Interact through program updates and reviews with all functions and levels of management ensuring effective ongoing communications across teams and stakeholders
  • Manage deliverables across departments
 
Position Requirements
  • Should have strong Project Management skills including but not limited to: Project Planning, PMO, Project coordination.
  • Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices.
  • BA or BS; equivalent experience considered
  • PMP certification desired
  • 5+ years’ experience managing software development projects.
  • Demonstrated success at building team relationships and partnerships across organizational lines.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum processes
  • Strong problem solving, analysis and organization skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
