HR Specialist 

Description SUMMARY
Performs advanced, specialized and administrative duties in assigned human resource program for designated area(s). Responsible for providing high-level support in the administration of a human resources group.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
1. Advise management on the formulation and administration of plans and policies for human resource activities. Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations
2. Participate in professional development sessions or seminars. Lead special and cross-functional project teams. Present training sessions related to assigned program or section area.
3. Act as internal consultant by analyzing and recommending solutions to human resource issues, relating to assigned program or section area. Answer non-routine requests for information on policy interpretation. Respond to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints. May assist to represent the company for any unemployment claims.
4. Interviews, screens, and recruits job applicants to fill entry level, professional, and technical job openings.
5. Under direction, develop, revise and implement human resource policies and procedures. Ensure program or section area is in compliance with established policies and procedures. Assist in the planning and organizing of assigned program or section area.
6. Prepare and maintain special internal and external reports as requested by immediate supervisor. Develop methods and procedures for compiling and analyzing data for reports and special projects. Conduct periodic audits of human resource activities to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Conduct exit interviews and analyze data to make recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
7. Assist with developing, coordinating and recommending changes for the improvement of workflow in the program or section area.
8. May plan, assign and/or supervise the work of others. May function as an assistant to the section manager or as a team leader.
9. Additional duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION
AA Degree preferred and/or 2+ years' experience in Human Resources functions in an organization of 100+ employees. Hospitality, Tribal and/or Casino experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE
2+ years' experience in Human Resources, preferably in the Hospitality or Casino Industries.
Background in employment law and other government compliance regulations is preferred.
Class II or III casino experience preferred.
 
Gaming License Muscogee (Creek) Nation Gaming License is required.
