HSE Integrated has more than 700 employees, comprising one of the largest teams of industrial safety experts and inventories of rental equipment in North America.   Category Industrial Services   Location Rockford   Open Date 2/9/2015   Req Number IND-15-00017   Description Responsibilities of the Safety Advisor include, but are not limited to: Communicate with client representatives to provide the highest level of field safety services during daily operations Provide safety support to client representatives including any reasonable requests outside normal duties Provide complete equipment orientation including demonstrating and instructing clients and their representatives on the proper care and use of the equipment, ensure the protection and proper use of all field equipment while conducting field activities, including daily informal inspections, while on location to minimize potential loss. Complete accurate handover information to relieving Safety Advisor Maintain vehicles, shacks and work areas in clean, tidy and professional condition Maintain a mature and professional relationship with all client representatives, personnel in the work area, co-workers and HSE Integrated managers Ensure training competency goals are met as laid out in “Training and Competencies” Participate and co-operate with HSE Integrated management in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all Policies and Procedures programs Ensure that all pertinent paperwork is completed accurately, neatly and in a timely manner Report and communicate regularly to Operations Manager on the following critical changes necessary that may directly affect on-site job (Emergency situations; accommodation check out; occurrences on the job site; additional personnel or equipment that may be required; changing locations and departure of locations) Maintain a daily log of all activities directly related to the job Report all deficiencies to senior staff and/or direct supervisor   Position Requirements Qualifications of the Safety Advisor include, but are not limited to 5 years of Safety Advisor experience Experience in Steel Mill settings considered and asset Permit Issuer Training (experience issuing confined space and hotwork permits is a must) Standard First Aid / CPR, Fall Protection, Hazard Assessment, PPE and Confined Space Entry & Attendant Training 10 hour OSHA Construction Safety Certification 30 hour OSHA Construction Safety Certification is an asset H2S Alive and TWIC certifications are an asset Occupational Health and Safety degree is an asset Strong interpersonal & organizational skills Ability to function effectively individually or as a part of a team Proven problem solving and job task planning skills High School Diploma Valid Driver’s License Computer literacy including proficiency with MS Word and Excel Physically fit to work (able to climb ladders up to 150’) Preference will be given to applicants working towards ASP CSP and CHSP designations   Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
