The Prep Cook will be responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and assisting chefs to ensure efficient meal service. Position Title: Prep Cook
Location: Trump Winery, Trump Cidery & Albemarle Estate at Trump Winery in Charlottesville, VA - 15 minutes south of Charlottesville city limits and 20 minutes north of Scottsville
Wage: $17/hr to $19/hr ( depending on experience)
Hours: Full-Time - on-site, non-exempt, regularly scheduled 40 hours/week. Open availability is needed, including evenings and weekends. No late nights

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, measuring, and portioning food items.

Follow recipes and directions for basic cooking tasks such as par-boiling, roasting, or blending.

Assist chefs and line cooks in maintaining smooth kitchen operations.

Properly label, date, and store food items according to food safety standards.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep stations, storage areas, and kitchen equipment.

Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.

Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and notify supervisors of shortages.

Assist with receiving, unpacking, and storing food deliveries.

Perform other kitchen-related tasks as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:

Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred, but not required (training available).

Knowledge of basic food preparation and kitchen equipment is a plus.

Effective verbal and written communication skills in English are required to perform job duties.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and safely in a fast-paced environment.

Good communication skills and a team-player attitude.

Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
