Provide prompt, friendly and courteous customer service. Status: Full Time, $16.50/hour. Supervisor: Produce Manager Tentative Schedule: Mondays 12:30pm - 9pm, Thursdays 12:30pm - 9pm, Fridays 12:30pm - 9pm, Saturdays 10:30am - 7pm, Sundays 12:30pm - 9pm Job Responsibilities: Receiving: Assist with deliveries Help with unloading as needed Assist with stocking and rotation of backstock In the absence of the Produce Receiver: Check in and sign for deliveries. Note any discrepancies, product damages or adjustments on the invoice. Prep: Wash / soak, trim, bundle, and package wet produce for displays Sort, weigh, and label dry items for displays Store extra products in boxes / bins or tubs. Label contents As needed, clean/sanitize surfaces, utensils, buckets, and sinks As needed remove trash As needed flatten boxes and take to cardboard baler Stocking: Cull, rotate, and replenish displays following established stocking priorities Dispose of damaged or spoiled product promptly, after notifying produce management Keep produce retail, prep, and storage areas in a clean, orderly condition Clean cases and shelf displays Pay attention to potential floor hazards such as wet floor areas or food on the floor As needed, clean/sanitize surfaces, utensils, buckets, and sinks As needed remove trash As needed flatten boxes and take to cardboard baler Label items accurately with price tags Check signage for correct PLU, price, and origin Report any shrink and pricing anomalies as per department procedures Customer Service: Assist customers with questions in a prompt, friendly, courteous manner. If you cannot answer their questions, find another staff member to assist them Offer samples, menu ideas and suggestions for preparation Record and process special orders according to department procedures Closing: Leave produce retail, prep and storage areas in a clean and orderly condition Compost spoiled product according to department procedures Clean/sanitize surfaces, utensils, buckets, and sinks Remove trash Flatten boxes and take to cardboard baler Wash and dry prep room floor Properly store / cover refrigerated produce as per department procedures Bring any plants / products from sales floor to produce cooler Lock gates for outdoor plant area. Special tasks: Assist with set-up of Garden Shop as necessary Load and operate Cardboard Baler and store completed bales according to department procedures   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Open Date 9/8/2025   Position Produce, Associate   Position Requirements Qualifications: Demonstrated reliability in attendance and timeliness Ability to follow directions and work independently when necessary Ability to project friendly, helpful presence to customers while maintaining a professional demeanor Familiarity with produce varieties / classifications Ability to follow written and oral directions Excellent oral and written communication skills Organized, with attention to details Basic arithmetic skills Familiarity with basic office computer functions including spreadsheets, email, internet Experience with computer Point-of-Sale systems a plus Ability to safely and consistently lift 60 pounds throughout a shift Ability to work shifts with constant standing throughout work day and frequent kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching Demonstrated diligence in cleaning Willingness to get dirty and wet ?Flexibility in scheduling, including willingness to exchange shifts with co-workers, willingness to cover additional shifts if needed, and willingness to alter work schedule to meet changing needs of the department   Shift Rotating Days and Evenings   This position is currently accepting applications.
