Overall duties of this position include, but are not limited to: being responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of Optilink equipment for all residential and business customers. Bucket truck operation and Pole climbing are also required of this position. This position's regular hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday, with occasional work after normal business hours as well as some weekends, etc., including required standby. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: Must possess a basic knowledge of cable, telephone, and computer systems. Must be able to follow procedures and standards set forth by the Outside Plant Manager Must possess an aptitude for problem troubleshooting, cable termination and fiber optic splicing and maintaining vehicles and tools. Must be able to lift objects that weight approximately 100lbs Must have or be able to obtain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) within 6 months. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
