PMS 377 is the Amphibious Warfare Program Office for the US Navy. The office manages the acquisition of Navy amphibious ships and craft including: America class Amphibious Assault Ship (LHA (R)) Amphibious Assault Direction System (AADS) Ship to Shore Connector (SSC) Landing Craft Utility (LCU) Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) This position will work with the engineering team in Boston. The incumbent will be responsible for: Mechanical Engineering for all LCAC SLEP, LCAC LCM, SSC LCM, and sustainment efforts. Developing Craft Change Documents (CCD) for craft improvements and safety issues and provides technical guidance and documentation for CCDs, including craft installation drawings, TM updates, and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP). Providing technical and design support on emergent issues in the Fleet and during SLEP, Post SLEP Extension (PSE), Fleet Modernization Program (FMP), AIT, and Post Shakedown Availabilities (PSA). Responding to emergent Fleet issues related to Life Cycle support and engineering issues as a result of System Engineering Integrated Product Team (SEIPT) meetings for items related to action items/studies. Serving as the lead technical authority for reviewing/answering Liaison Action Requests (LAR) processed and approved by the Planning Yard. Responsible for traveling for design craft checks when required (ACU-4, ACU-5 and NBU-7). Working/updating the status of work in PMS377's IDESC. Performing engineering duties in planning and designing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. Overseeing installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment such as centralized heat, gas, water, and steam systems.
