The Systems Analyst’s role is to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient information systems and operations systems in support of core organizational functions. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. Assist the Director-IT in the research of new information technology and its application to MCC’s business systems. In addition, the Systems Analyst will: 1. Administer MCC data, program management, and security functions to insure that data and programs used in computer-based systems are properly safe-guarded from damage or loss 2. Assist the Director-IT and others in the development, maintenance, and testing of disaster recovery plans in connection with the use of information systems components critical to MCC 3. Understand and maintain manufacturing systems software; to include batch processing, packaging, inventory, purchasing, and quality control functions; support the users in the use of the specific software at all MCC divisions 4. Develop and maintain both system level and external reporting tools to allow MCC associates to utilize the information that is stored in MCC global systems 5. Develop system/program logic diagrams, application requirement specifications, and other documentation materials associated with MCC’s systems development methodologies 6. Evaluate and prepare modification for existing information systems software and hardware components to reflect additions and changes in system definitions 7. Translate new or changed application specifications into source languages and/or appropriate program specifications, assist in or perform testing and implementation tasks required for the resulting run-time system components 8. Carryout the design, development, testing, and implementation of recommended and approved information system changes 9. Perform user support and other associated “help-desk” functions for MCC IT users as required or requested 10. Attend seminars, vendor-sponsored training programs, and pay diligent attention to information technology related literature to maintain the level of familiarity with the subject matter needed for this position 11. Back-up System Administrator in determining causes of computer or communication system operation malfunctions and participate with others in the restoration of service 12. Seek out new technologies or work in conjunction with the Director-IT to determine its application to MCC’s business system |
