Title

Test Engineer 

Description Maintain and operate laboratory analytical and testing equipment. Measure melt viscosity and thermal properties (melting point, heat of fusion, glass transition temperature) of polymeric materials. Perform tensile testing on polymer materials. Prepare samples suitable for dynamic mechanical analysis. Analyze mechanical data and report key results. Perform Hardness measurements. Conduct thermal aging experiments on polymer samples. Work to industrial safety requirements. Extrusion compounding of polymer blends for evaluation. Compression molding of polymer compositions and materials. Measure flow properties and bulk density of polymer powders. Transfer data into computer spread sheets, analyze data and provide conclusions/recommendations. Operation of optical microscopes and associated photographic imaging
Organize inventory of polymer materials, test samples, and retains. Coordinate testing with outside test facilities as required.

 
Position Requirements Required:
Bachelor of Science in either Chemical or Materials Engineering.
Strong background in Polymer Materials Science and Technology.
Practical experience and knowledge of Polymer Processing Technologies.
Experience in operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
Experience in operation of laboratory thermal analysis equipment.
Min 2 years experience of operating differential scanning calorimeter, dynamic mechanical analyzer, polymer melt and solids rheometer, mechanical testing equipment, polymer extrusion equipment, &.
Ability to understand and comply with OSHA and MSDS requirements
High proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Good written and communication skills.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to work with minimum supervision

Preferred:
Familiarity with optical microscopy equipment
