Position Summary: Direct the operations of projects and crews including but not limited to contract production for Traffic Safety and pavement markings. Coordinate activities with estimating department with respect to capacity, critical path issues, and production plan. Coordinate with accounting with respect to revenue recognition, forecasting, and reporting. Coordinate with dispatch to adhere to time projections, proper resource allocation and quality. Supervise crews with respect to production, hours incurred and paperwork requirements. This position is intended to be a working supervisory role, performing traffic control and striping operations on the jobsite.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Maintain schedule of contract and daily rental production on weekly basis.
  • Assure contract production is timely and within the constraints of the bid estimate.
  • Determine equipment needs for production.
  • Request purchase of material needs as determined.
  • Direct activities of shop to assure appropriate fleet levels, a well-maintained shop and yard that complies with Safety and Environmental conditions and procedures, and adequate personnel scheduling for truck loading and unloading.
  • Schedule work hours for operations crews to assure compliance with DOT rules and regulations and minimize overtime.
  • Maintain system of reporting production to accounting for billing purposes.
  • Maintain Weekly Revenue Forecast Report on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain or oversee maintenance of schedule board.
  • Assist in hiring personnel.
  • Make customer calls to field and office on regular basis, calling upon new and existing customers.
  • Follow pre-determined process maps for operation, truck loading, billing and estimating.
  • Conduct scheduled personnel evaluations
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

 

  • Minimum of 3 years traffic safety experience including crew work and industry formal training.
  • Minimum of 1 year supervisory or management experience.
  • Thorough understanding of state specifications for devices and materials in states where assigned branches are located.
  • Industry involvement through trade associations, coalitions with state DOT, or similar.
  • Computer training will be required for Navision, email. Skills also preferred in spreadsheet program and word processing program.
  • Understanding of financial statements including balance sheet and profit & loss statement.
