Summary:
The Lighting Sales Manager plays a crucial role at in supporting our purpose to create lasting value for those we serve by assisting the light team members you are responsible for to help ensure productivity and remove any barriers that might prevent them from growing our business. This includes working with key suppliers and supplier representatives as well as the internal lighting team to align and deliver on further growth of the overall lighting business to ensure a consistent look and feel amongst the lighting team throughout the company, allowing for flexibility but driving accountability where non-negotiables exist. This position will provide support for regional lighting teams with respective brand representative firms and the creation of plan and spec packages on bid day and work with regional management when necessary. The Lighting Sales Manager must have demonstrated leadership ability to create a results-driven, team oriented environment while continually promoting and protecting our culture, our 5 P’s and our purpose of creating lasting value for those we serve.

 

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Provide overall leadership for Lighting Specialists, Lighting Quotes Specialists, and Project Coordinators
  • Establish and maintain relationship with all lighting suppliers and supplier representative partners
  • Lead supplier meetings and reviews
  • Serve as first line of introduction for supplier programs and products in your respective areas
  • Evaluate supplier programs for success and suggest improvements and/or changes as needed
  • Provide assistance and support for product lines across business units and branches
  • Ensure strategic and long-term product line support is in place to continue a working relationship
  • Effectively identify and execute new product strategies
  • Help to facilitate lighting team meetings and training sessions
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and performance feedback to enhance employee engagement
  • Monitor and help drive consistencies in our strategies and best practice for all processes within the team
  • Work with pricing team to set margins on new products
  • Assist purchasing with dead and/or slow-moving inventory to ensure accurate inventory levels
  • Strategize and develop new tools as necessary, drive change and compliance when needed
  • Serve as liaison for all lighting teams as to needs, product and barriers
  • Provide business reviews as needed; understand and share the sales and market share data
  • Partner with sales leadership team in creating the lighting team budget
