Description

SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Chief Compliance Officer COO, the Compliance and Credentialing Associate is responsible for medical staff credentialing, privileging, licensing, and regulatory support services. The position supports Open Door Community Health Centers’ (ODCHC) compliance and privacy program in policy management, incident management, investigation and resolution of concerns, and the provision of data and periodic analytical reporting to support the Chief Compliance Officer and ODCHC management. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Administrator of Open Door’s medical staff services software (MD-Staff).
  • Performs primary source verification of credentials, i.e. education, licenses, certifications, and references.
  • Processes credentialing and re-credentialing applications and ensures ODCHC database on practitioners’ education, training, licensing, experience and other information is properly maintained, managed, and that periodic reports are provided to the medical staff leadership, the Chief Compliance Officer, and the Board of Directors, as necessary.
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures for medical staff credentialing and privileging.
  • Co-Administrator of Open Door’s policy management software (PolicyTech).
  • Provides technical support for management and staff on the management of policies and procedure, organizational forms, and contracts.
  • Co-Administrator of Open Door’s incident reporting system (EthicsPoint).
  • Investigates and provides reports on cases assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer.
  • Provides technical and analytic support for management on reported incidents and events and the corrective action process.
  • Supports the Chief Compliance Officer and ODCHC management during facility site reviews and other regulatory audits.
  • Coordinates and provides targeted compliance and privacy trainings to staff.
  • Performs other duties as identified and assigned by supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish constructive professional working relationships among a diverse workforce.
  • Strong computer skills with specific aptitude in Microsoft Office Suite, medical staff credentialing management software (MD-Staff), policy management software (PolicyTech), and incident management system (EthicsPoint).  
  • Advanced knowledge of MD-Staff, PolicyTech, and EthicsPoint software preferred.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply employment policies and procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from applicants, supervisors, hiring managers, others within the corporation and the general public.
  • Ability to collaborate with others while working with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to effectively represent ODCHC’s interests.
  • Ability to adhere to and model ODCHC’s policies and procedures.
  • Ability to exercise balanced judgment in evaluating candidates and making recommendations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and objectivity.
  • Adheres to ODCHC’s policies and procedures.

 

  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of experience in a similar role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

                                                                       

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

 

SUPERVISION AND SUPPORT: This position reports directly to the Chief Compliance officer and is an integral part of the Compliance Department.

Wage Range Hiring Range $28.68 to $35.10
