SUMMARY: The Business Intelligence 2 (BI) Analyst provides and enhances a number of routine and ad hoc reports, develops and maintains dashboard summaries, and supports training to users of business intelligence products. The Analyst will coordinate reporting efforts and facilitate data source development by proactively communicating across user groups to identify patterns, trends, problems, or opportunities for improvements and efficiencies. The Analyst will demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills with an emphasis on team driven collaboration.

This position can be done remotely. California strongly preferred.

 

Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and build reports in PowerBI.
  • Perform exploratory data analyses on medical, financial, and operational datasets.
  • Update and maintain reports in Tableau, PowerBI, and SSRS.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the existing report inventory in order to address report requests appropriately by distinguishing between new and existing reports.
  • Analyze and translates business requirements into functional and non-function system requirements.
  • Meet with clinical and non-clinical staff to present proposals and analytical findings.
  • Work with users to identify reporting needs, define specifications, and translate workflows into report specifications.
  • Develop and maintain clear, accurate project documentation including the development of business cases, proposals, and report summaries
  • Other duties and responsibilities as designated by supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:

  • Strong relational database skills.
  • Experience with information systems and data extraction.
  • Advanced analytic skills with experience in python and/or R.
  • Familiarity with health care delivery, health care data systems, and electronic health records.
  • Familiarity with accounting and finance practices and principles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish constructive professional working relationships among a diverse workforce.
  • Demonstrate respectful, professional and appropriate behavior that supports a team-oriented work environment.
  • Excellent problem solving, investigative, and research skills.
  • Excellent project management skills, and strong attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills
  • Experience working with data analytics platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft SSRS.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills including the ability to present and discuss data and reports with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
  • Adheres to ODCHC’s policies and procedures.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Information Management, or a related field. Equivalent years of experience considered.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in any of the following: business intelligence, data science, or healthcare analytics.
  • Minimum two (2) years of programming experience in database query language such as Microsoft T-SQL.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This is not a supervisory position.

 

SUPERVISION AND SUPPORT: The Business Intelligence Analyst reports to the Business Intelligence Manager who will oversee the daily activities of this position.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is largely an office-based position. The BI Analyst position can be done remotely. The physical requirements described are representative of those needed to successfully perform the essential duties of the position. Wage Range $111,904 to $136,406
