Description

SUMMARY: The Technical Writer will assist Open Door Community Health Centers (ODCHC) Information Technology team with key projects in creating and maintain technical content and documentation as an integral part of the Information Technology services delivered to users. As a Technical Writer you will work directly with IT Leadership and team to design, develop, maintain and launch of technical training material and aids. The Technical Writer will research topics, interview stakeholders, write documents, create work flows and processes and procedures.

 

Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, create, and maintain technical documentation that serves Open Door IT Department and internal users.
  • Research and analyze software and write well-composed documentation that is aligned to define topic.
  • Acquiring in-depth knowledge of Open Door current and future software solutions, and user needs.
  • Develop high-quality user-facing content, customize setup guides, online help aids, product update bulletins, and email communications.
  • Maintain and update user-facing content, user guides, test plans, and online help.
  • Develop and maintain business process documentation, templates, and forms.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and project leaders to identify content needs and move content through the review and approval process.
  • Maintain and examine existing standards for customer-facing and internal content.
  • Participate in the implementation of new technologies to improve content development, management, and delivery
  • Attend staff and team meetings as needed.
  • Performs other duties as identified and assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study.
  • Two years of experience in a similar role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

 

SUPERVISION AND SUPPORT: The Technical Writer reports directly to the Vice President of Information Technology.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is largely an office-based position. The physical requirements described are representative of those needed to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.
