POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resource (HR) Assistant contributes to the accomplishment of the Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The HR Assistant assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties. The HR Assistant carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: HRIS, benefits, organizational development, recruiting, and employment.

 

Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in recruitment of staff through the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Maintain employee files and the HR filing system.
  • Assist Benefit Administrator with enrollment, reporting, and benchmarking.
  • Track measurements that support the goals of the HR department.
  • Maintain the HRIS database and generate scheduled or requested reports to assist management.
  • Assist with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR Department.
  • Assume other duties as assigned by the HR Director.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree or equivalent.

 

COMPETENCIES:

  • Maintains compliance with the organization’s confidentiality policy.
  • Monitors MWEC processes to ensure compliance with the organization’s policies and with the guidelines set by relevant regulatory agencies.
  • Comfortable working with a variety of people and able to meet deadlines.
  • Possess an array of general office skills, such as typing, data entry and handling mail.
  • Awareness of MWEC’s mission and have an understanding of basic filing procedures.
  • Organized, adaptable, professional and able to follow the instructions.
  • Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to speak clearly and employees understand language without misinterpretation or confusion.
  • Professional demeanor required with the ability to work with multiple departments.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exhibit maturity, reliability, composure, and stability under pressure in order to prioritize job openings.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Physical Activity: Talking, Hearing, Repetitive motion.
  • Physical Requirements: Sedentary work. Involves sitting most of the time.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  • Occasional travel is required for this position, and requires a valid driver’s license.
