This position is open to candidates who would like on the job paid training to become a registered dental assistant.
Our Registered Dental Assistants provide chair-side support to the dental provider by monitoring patient comfort, providing patient education and assists with as many procedures as adequately trained to do. The Registered Dental Assistant is a patient ally and needs to be a calm, organized and considerate individual with exceptional interpersonal skills to help the provider and patient feel connected. The Registered Dental Assistant needs to be able to work as a team to create a positive work environment. The Registered Dental Assistant needs to be detail oriented and well organized, they help maintain the overall feel and flow of the clinic. California registration required; prior experience in clinic setting preferred.

Prepares patients for procedures by dentist and assists chair-side.

Assists dentist with as many procedures as adequately trained to do, including but not limited to: cleanings, fillings, root canals, crowns, extractions, dentures and coronal polishing.

Takes, develops and mounts X-rays.

Prepares operatories between patient visits by cleaning and stocking in accordance with dentist’s practice and OSHA compliance guidelines.

Files patient dental information into chart accurately.

Wraps equipment for autoclaving and operates autoclave correctly.Mixes and uses different cleaning solutions as required for each test.

Keeps operatories, hallways, and other areas clean.

Provides patient education on proper dental care.

Adherence to ODCHC’s attendance policy.

Other duties and responsibilities as designated by supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Dental Assisting degree or two or more years of dental assisting experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Current California RDA registration.

Coronal Polishing certificate.

Dental Radiography certificate.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Speaking and hearing sufficient to communicate effectively by phone or in person, at normal volumes.

Vision adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc.
