POSITION SUMMARY: The Accounting Assistant is responsible for administratively supporting the Accounting Department and the Maintenance Department.

 

REPORTS TO: Controller

 

 

Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Assist in Accounts Payable Area
    • Print electronically received invoices
    • Process department mail
    • Assist AP staff matching invoices and receivers to statements
    • Assist AP staff matching checks with invoices
    • Backup for invoice entry into accounting software
    • Invoice filing, and year end invoice rotation
    • Contact vendors for vendor invoices or questions as needed
    • Other AP support for meter readings, new accounts, general support of the AP area
  • General Accounting Area
    • Able to enter approved journal entries into accounting software
    • Assist in budget process as needed
    • Other projects as requested
  • Maintenance Support
    • Work order system triage
      • Assign work orders to maintenance staff
      • Contact vendors as directed
    • Work with maintenance staff to procure vendor services such as lawn care, snow plowing, cleaning
    • Assist with projects and analysis as requested.
  • General Support
    • Scanning support as requested
    • Projects as requested
    • Central Office mail

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior business office experience required with a preference for Associate Degree in Business or Accounting.
