POSITION SUMMARY: The Payroll Accountant is responsible for processing all components of the payroll process and assisting with general accounting duties.

REPORTS TO: Controller

SUPERVISES: N/A

 

Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Responsible for all payroll processing cycles for 800+ employees across two states.
  • Create budgetary information related to staff and professional wages.
  • Troubleshoot payroll tax concerns along with third party payroll vendor.
  • Process ACH payments for assigned liabilities as needed.
  • Create spreadsheet analysis and graphs as needed.
  • Assist with multiple accounting audits throughout the year.
  • Analysis of financial statements regarding wages and taxes.
  • Other projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or
  • Associate Degree in Accounting and 2-3 years of payroll experience

COMPETENCIES:

  • Intermediate to expert Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Quality of work reflects efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ability to obtain knowledge and skills on the job or through educational courses.
  • Polite, professional, and courteous.
  • Proactive and adaptable with the ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
