Are you looking to join a fast-paced team that strives to deliver exceptional service to customers? The Agronomy Department is hiring a full time Agronomy Sales & Marketing Manager! 

 

Position Overview:

The Agronomy Sales & Marketing Manager will provide leadership and guidance to a wide variety of personalities and styles of current Field Sales Agronomists and supporting staff. The Agronomy Sales & Marketing Manager will need to possess excellent sales, management and marketing skills and have a very good understanding of seed, crop nutrient, chemical and precision ag programs and how to maximize margins. Independent thinking, goal and performance driven characteristics combined with a strong leadership and sales record is essential to the success of this person. The Agronomy Sales & Marketing Manager will serve as an integral part of the UFC Agronomy Leadership Team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the UFC Agronomy sales team and activities for a multi- million-dollar Agronomy operation to include chemical, crop nutrients, precision ag and seed.
  • Applies sound business principles in the management of Agronomy sales team, along with meeting or exceeding the sales, margin, and the local savings goals.
  • Develop individual Field Sales Agronomist’s goals (in conjunction with VP of Agronomy, Seed, CPP, and Precision Ag PSMs), tracking metrics, tactics, and timing around strategies outlined in UFC’s Business Plan.
  • Train and develop agronomy sales team on programs, pricing, margin management and overall strategy to offer the best returns for both the patron and UFC.
  • Effectively manage UFC’s Field Sales Agronomist’s development through interaction with UFC’s PSM to ensure sales effectiveness and technical expertise.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with management team & agronomy sales staff to monitor competitive products and marketing activities.
  • Build strong, long term relationships with top key accounts in the defined team geography to maximize UFC’s concentration, penetration and retention in the trade area.
  • Network with producers to earn new business and manage assigned key accounts.
  • Establish, build, and maintain relationships with key industry and strategic community partners.
  • Facilitate strong team building skills and the ability to help with product marketing and development along with pricing and inventory within UFC’s trade area.
  • Plan and oversee advertising and promotion activities as well as communication of sales programs, incentives and purchase options.
  • Collaborate with UFC’s PSMs to maximize product/technical knowledge transfer UFC’s Field Sales Agronomists to capitalize on services, information, and sales to preferred growers desiring extensive technical/ agronomic expertise.
  • Utilize UFC’s FOCUS CRM to work closely with sales team members on a daily/weekly basis to make sure they are doing the “right” things to achieve their goals
  • Maintain a consistent UFC branded image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.

 

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings that meets UFC standards.
  • Facilitates and completes required training and development objectives within the assigned time frame for employees
  • Enforces company safety program
  • Resolves customer complaints quickly and fairly in accordance with company policies. Refers unusual situations to the Vice President of Agronomy
  • Recommends qualified and competent people to management for addition to staff as necessary
  • Assure quality for all engagements with and deliverables provided to customers and prospects
  • Provide feedback on market trends, competitive threats, and opportunities to deliver greater value to customers
  • Other duties as assigned. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
