Primary Objectives of the Position:
To lead the dairy feed sales and service efforts of UFC's Feed Department
To recommend to Feed Department manager products and programs to meet
Patrons needs in changing markets
.
Communicates with patrons and employees in a manner that will create
support and loyalty for United Farmers Cooperative.
Major Areas of Accountability:
- Provides the sales and technical services for the ruminant feed segment of the Livestock Service Center in such a manner as to grow the business in volume and profitability.
- To develop and implement marketing strategies and technical services that will grow our business in the ruminant feed segments and will create new markets as well.
- Coordinate the use of resource people to provide services and technical advice to patrons or prospects that require them.
- Make farm calls to service patrons and prospects technical and ration needs.
- To provide technical and nutritional updates when required for newsletters.
- Coordinate and present producer meetings as needed.
- To use the UFC patron database as designated by sales manager to provide daily sales call information and record of recommendations.
- Develop prospect database and coordinate with resource people to gather information on these prospects as you call on them.
- Position will be responsible to help put together marketing plans for Livestock Service Center.
- Work with rest of staff to develop long and short-term goals for the sales areas.
- Develop yearly goals and programs that will help achieve those goals.
- Help design and implement promotions and programs to assist our patrons achieve their financial and production goals.
- Identify special project opportunities and provide input into setting them up.
- Enforces UFC's credit policy. No charges to customers on COD. No charges to customers who have not been approved by the general manager. No charges authorized to customers that have exceeded set credit limits. All personal accounts are current.
- Is active in promoting community activities, youth groups such as 4-H and FFA and industry activities.
- Assists in resolving customer complaints quickly and fairly in accordance with company policies. Refers unusual situations to Feed Team Manager.
- Suggests topics and provides information for publications or letters going to patrons.
- Responsible use of all assets of United Farmers Cooperative that are entrusted by you.
- Attitude consistently mirrors the company image and promotes fellow employee teamwork.
- Participation in departmental meetings as requested by the Feed Team Manager
17. Complies with all laws and regulations that apply to the department
18. Enforces company safety program.
19. Attends appropriate training sessions as part of programs of continuing education.
20. Other duties as assigned.
